SkaDate: Response to black PR

I'm sad to observe the questionable activity around our product's name on some Internet forums and rating resources that have been taking place in the last weeks.

Some individuals find it a good idea to register under different usernames on these resources and try to slander SkaDate with fake negative reviews and claiming bad experience with our product and support.

I want to emphasize that we do not claim that _any_ negative review is fake. The Internet is just a too democratic place where everyone can share their thoughts and experience no matter how subjective they are. Every company has unhappy customers meaning that solutions it offers don't work for their business.

Who is doing that? There's one competitor company which name we won't reveal here since we are not into the same black PR games. It's pretty easy to discover who I'm talking about by patterns in their activity. These people seem to believe it's possible to succeed by trying to build bad reputation for competitors. This kind of business ethics gives a good idea how this company is going to treat their customers.

Tips to recognize fake comments:

  • Overall rudeness with even black language, poor English language grammar and spelling;
  • Numerous comments made by seemingly different people within a very short period of time, like a couple of days. As if a lot of unhappy customers suddenly and simultaneously figured out they should write a review on the same resource, often using the same words.
  • And the key point - another company on the same resource that receives a lot of positive feedback with the same pattern: short period of time, seemingly different users, same words (this time they are "very happy", "very good", "very smart", "very professionally" - you see the pattern here).

You can see the same kind of English on their website, if you find out the company name. The problem of this company is obvious: they think that prospects are idiots that can be fooled by promising everything and spamming competitor product reviews.

Of course, this is not going to last for long - the rising awareness of this company business practices on webmaster forums is already there. The bad thing about all this is that it makes it harder for unaware prospects to tell the real companies from empty-talkers - which is their goal. Also, it distracts us from developing the new version of SkaDate. I hope this issue is going to be over soon, though.

Thanks,
Emil Sarnogoev
