SkaDate Dating Software is good. It has a sea of fun features, a myriad of free dating templates, a friendly interface, a treasure trove of knowledge in faqs and manuals, etc., etc. But what good is SkaDate dating script without a perfectly timed idea? Seeing as how we already survived January, and December is apparently our last month ever according to Mayans, I’ll give you 10 dating site ideas for the rest of the months in 2012. Enjoy the slideshow! And if you don’t see one, pretend it’s there, because that’s what this post originally was, and that’s what it’s gonna be once we fix it.
Well, this one is easy. There is one single day on the calendar everyone dreads and eagerly awaits at the same time. The day that celebrates silly poems, ridiculous greeting cards, and all sorts of heart drawings, as if it was the International Day of Cardiology. Yes, building your site around the concept of a year-long Valentine’s Day is not as odd as you might think. There is definitely a lot of money-making opportunities there…
Runner-up Idea: Leap Year Dating (It is the leap year after all, you know).
Let this month be the all-you-can-date buffet for game geeks. Because game geeks is the code phrase for all men aged 13 to 113. See how that can work to your advantage? Cosplay is going strong these days, use it! But why March? Well, let’s look at release schedule. We have Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City (Claire Redfield – Check), Mass Effect 3 (Miranda Lawson, Aria T’Loak – Check, Check), and Street Fighter X Tekken (Lili, Julia, Cammy, Nina, Chun-Li – Check, Check, Check). Aaaand, we’ve lost our female audience there…
Runner-up Idea: Russian Political Dating (Due to their presidential elections obviously).
OK, I agree it wasn’t fair to give men the entire month or March. Let’s level that somewhat. We’ll do that with some quality television. Trust me - if your date isn’t constantly searching for a remote when you watch a show together, you know that you are moving in the right direction. And what could be better than meeting on a themed site that emphasizes your shared good taste in some quality American television? April will see the return/debut of some of the most anticipated series of the year – Veep, Girls, and Game of Thrones. Get ready for those timed bathroom breaks (because TiVo is too mainstream).
Runner-up Idea: April's Fool Dating (Why no one ever comes up with these things?)
There’s so much going on in May, it’s kind of hard to pick just one thing to base the concept of your dating site on. And you know what’s a great place to see many concepts, and ideas, and people, and… well, stuff? World Expo. I’ll be damned, but lucky you, because Expo 2012 will be held in May 2012 in South Korea. I’ll give you a heads up to be prepared for the flood of people leaving the fair and searching for love – the Expo’s theme is The Living Ocean and Coast. Get ready!
Runner-up Idea: Desperate Housewives Dating (It’s now or never, the show comes to an end after 8 seasons).
I’ll be honest with you. First I wanted an easy way out while selecting the theme for June, so I went with Summer and a bucket of annual Hollywood vomit that comes with the season. But that’s too cheap, isn’t it? Besides, we never look for easy ways here. We look at Wikipedia instead. Which tells us that June 2012 will see the last solar transit of Venus this century. How’s that for a theme? Space, Venus, Science, Saying Goodbyes! It’s the chance of a lifetime, really.
Runner-up Idea: Facebook Timeline Dating (Let's hope it finally reaches everyone by that time).
Summer Olympics in London. That’s all you have to know to build your very own sport-themed… adult dating site. I’m telling you - it’s all in the names and logos. Look, officially the event is called the Games of the XXX Olympiad. Get it, eh, eh? Now look at that logo with Lisa Simpson on her knees… And the one-eyed bendy mascots… And their names – Wenlock and Mandeville… No wonder the games are in London, also known as Benny Hill’s special place of inspiration.
Runner-up Idea: Gay Pride Dating (Never ignore the power of the rainbow).
You know, I still feel bad for making March a video-game playing, man-centric month, and then leveling it out with April, based on watching TV together. Sorry, but now I think that sounded suspiciously similar to my post-college life with completely random women. Which is a nice dating concept by the way, but I digress. Anyway, to make that up, let’s base our August dating site on the concept of Women’s Equality Day (celebrated in the US on August 26). Whew… Am I off the hook now, consciousness? Hello? Anyone there?!
Runner-up Idea: Mars Landing Dating (Just for the sake of equality with aforementioned Venus).
Too little tech this far we had. Let’s fix that. iPhone 5 should be released this year, and while no one knows when that’ll happen exactly, this explosion in creativity and zombifying money-spending usually comes in the later part of the year. You know we all be there, standing in line and exchanging knowing looks. The perfect environment for initiating social interactions with romantic consequences, if you ask me. Also, don’t forget about mobile dating with a special SkaDate iPhone App (nothing wrong with a little shameless plug now and then).
Runner-up Idea: Windows 8 Dating (I think the two complete each other).
Nothing happens in October. Use Halloween as inspiration for your site. Everyone does so for absolutely everything else.
Runner-up Idea: None.
Ah, November. The eagerly awaited beginning of the holiday season. But this year November is even more special and even more red-white-and-blue-ish than usual. Thank the 2012 United States Presidential Elections. With all that exiting intrigue, intricate deception games, and Newt Gingrich, elections are the best dating site idea there is, not only for the last month before the Apocalypse, but for the entire 2012. Even with Michele Bachmann out of the picture. Or maybe because of that.
Runner-up Idea: Grand Prix Dating (Formula 1 finally returns to the US).
