Well, in today’s slideshow I’m going to give you ten headline-makers, who not only embraced Internet romance, but also gave us much needed free publicity in the process, making online dating even more acceptable for average joes.

SkaDate Dating Software Niches 101: Healthy Lifestyle Dating

SkaDate Dating Software Niches 101: Healthy Lifestyle DatingWelcome back to SkaDate Dating Software Niches 101. Last time we have looked at the ever popular Pet Dating, and as far as I know that gave some of our clients a good incentive to experiment with niche selection. We were also asked if there are other niches that could lead to a similar success.

I could have told you that with SkaDate dating script you can make any niche work to your advantage. That’s true, but there’s also a small matter of competition and niche domination. Generally speaking, you don’t want to go head to head with Match.com while swimming in the pool with other generic fishes. Setting your site apart even in the slightest way is always beneficial in our business.

So let’s look at other trends that are going strong at the moment. One of them is Healthy Lifestyle. Luckily, turning this concept into a dating niche is fairly simple, and quite a few people have already made millions doing just that. The list of successful niche representatives includes GreenRomance, Fitness-Singles, VeggieDates, MyFitnessPal, etc.

The good thing about healthy lifestyle is that all of us are attracted to it at one point or another. Some people stick with it for long, others discard it after a while, but everyone feels good while doing it, and that’s what counts.

Starting a dating site within the healthy lifestyle niche is fairly easy. You just have to look around and see what drives the trend in your particular area. Maybe it’s fitness exercises, environmental activism, or vegetarianism advocacy. It’s all over the mainstream media, which also works in our advantage.

A pleasant bonus here is that healthy lifestyle activity draws together similar minded people into communities almost on its own. You just have to capitalize on that. There is nothing wrong about it. Many singles actually look for a non-intrusive help to start building a relationship. A Healthy Lifestyle dating site might be just what they need.

Once you’ve got the crowd’s attention and your membership base begins to grow, the monetization plan will kick-in. Advertising relevant local events, selling numerous health products, or taking a share of the profit from vendors on your site (a new feature with SkaDate 9) can boost the income.

The best part is that everyone will benefit from your creation – the community will have a place to hang out and meet new members, and you will get a financial reward, while enjoying that green aura everyone is talking about.

But don’t forget that there are a lot of people out there who are fed up with all the talk about healthy lifestyle. Some of them simply cannot afford it, and others might have the misfortune of not enjoying good health altogether. Guess what, there is a dating niche just for them. But that is a subject for another blog post.

SkaDate Dating Software: Does Online Dating Work?

Tuesday, March 6th, 2012

SkaDate Dating Software: Does Online Dating Work?Last month’s SkaDate Dating Software Roundup included a story about Eli J. Finkel, an associate professor of social psychology at Northwestern University. He published a report on online dating, and while parsing the concept in general, Dr. Finkel pointed out that it does not always work as advertised. Specifically, there are doubts about the validity of the science behind matchmaking algorithms.

“Online dating is good. I’m very glad it exists,” Finkel said, “The problem is that the way online dating is implemented undermines some amount of its goodness.”

This seems like a fair assessment of one of the most successful and bullet-proof industries, although one would be hard-pressed to find any global business that does not have flaws whatsoever, and is still praised all around.

Nevertheless, mainstream media jumped on the bandwagon and had a field day (rather an entire month) blasting online dating with criticism and explaining the audience how it does not really work. Which, ironically, is not what the original report said at all.

Truth is, readers, especially those already online, are likely familiar with the specificity of Internet businesses, of which online dating is a big part. The number of active Internet daters is still growing for more than a decade now, and so is the figure for successful matches, which means one of the two things.

Either it really works, or people just have their own opinion and use the service anyway. Basically, they don’t care about online dating science or algorithms, they come for other benefits.

It is 2012 and no one goes to a dating site expecting instant positive results, just because a mathematical equation says so. Online dating is not magic and everyone who’s ever tried it knows it well. You can and will get results, if you are ready to communicate and invest some time and effort into it.

In this sense, magic, science, or not, it would be foolish to expect a significantly different outcome from actually dating online as compared to real life. Most people understand that, and they also understand the advantages of Internet romance. Namely, cost-effectiveness, security, and the most important thing – the enormous pool of singles on display.

We all give people what they want – a chance to meet their match and the opportunity to expand their social circle. The rest is up to them. Maybe they’ll quickly sail to success and leave, or maybe they will stick around, since the journey is pleasant as well.

In any case, science does helps us improve the tool for e-romance, but it does not run our show. Love does. Luckily, no one questions the validity of love, even though it is even more elusive than matchmaking algorithms.

SkaDate Dating Software:
Why Online Dating is Recession Proof

Friday, February 17th, 2012

by Zima

SkaDate Dating Software: Why Online Dating is Recession Proof Week after week SkaDate Dating Software blog gives its readers numerous reasons to start online dating business and encourages them to launch their own dating sites. But never before have we spoken in detail about one of the major benefits of running a virtual matchmaking service. Quite simply, online dating industry is recession proof.

This is especially important now, when budgets are tight and stakes of starting up a right kind of enterprise are very high. No one wants to end up stranded in the middle of a desert with an expensive, but ultimately useless car.

The fact of the matter is that recession or not, online dating is cost effective. Dating site members don’t have to spend extra cash on drinks, dinners, bouncer bribes, etc. just to meet their potential matches. Instead, all social interactions that go into lengthy (and often expensive) pre-screening procedures in the real world, can be duplicated absolutely for free online.

But dating stands out even among other Internet ventures and eCommerce opportunities in the time of uncertain economy.  It is just the kind of environment that makes people join forces for survival. Shared income and cut expenses is the clear benefit of living as a couple during hard times.

Most important of all, people always look for love, and when they can’t afford real dating, they wont suddenly drop it off their agendas, like a weekly trip to the local multiplex. Instead, they’ll turn to online dating. And it’s not just a theory either.

Last time recession pushed us to the edge OkCupid reported a triple increase in on-site instant messages, while both eHarmony registrations and Craigslist personals saw a 20%
increase. Oh, and Match.com bragged about its strongest fourth quarter in seven years. You see, not only online dating is recession proof, recession actually gave it an enormous boost!

This is not another marketing push, by the way. The phenomenon has been widely covered and documented by the mainstream media, including CNN and The New York Times, among many others.

So whether you like it or not, the weakened economy places our already thriving industry in the same league as liquor, gambling, and medical services – something people will never give up voluntarily, and something that will always work.

Of course one key thing to keep in mind is that recession proof or not, you have to have some powerful engine to fuel your vehicle on the way to success. That’s where SkaDate dating script comes in. I’ll never get tired of repeating that we’ve been selected one of the Best Dating Software Providers at the 2012 iDate Awards, which should give you a hint of where to look for that car to get you through the desert and beyond.
