As the release date for SkaDate Android Application rapidly approaches, we decided to share some of the inside knowledge regarding the app’s current development. Last year we promised to put as much thought and effort into SkaDate Android version as we did into our hit iOS app. We believe that the preliminary result of our work speaks for itself, as you can see below. It gives us great pleasure to finally share some of the development screenshots ahead of the February release. Time to get exited!
We’ve retained all the key visual aesthetics of the iOS application, while making the new version as much an Android standalone product as can be done. This means that the new app is not a simple re-skin/port from the iOS counterpart – it’s a brand new native Android app created from scratch.
While it was tempting to stuff the new application with as many features as possible, we soon realized that such ongoing development could go on for quite a while. Instead, we’ve made the decision to include most of the requested functionality for the Android app’s first release, and then add more stuff with later versions. This way you can get a perfectly working SkaDate Android app now, with the knowledge that our team is always busy working on the next iteration.
So what’s inside the app right now? Let’s take a closer look:
- User Search
- Match List
- Guest List
- Profile Bookmarks
- Profile View/Edit
- User Photos
- Content Flagging
- Facebook Connect
All in all, SkaDate Android App is shaping up quite nicely and looks mighty fine too! All pre-order clients can expect the app to land in their Customer Areas shortly; and if you haven’t ordered it yet, there is still precious little time to benefit from the still active pre-order discount.
