One of the biggest online dating industry events of the year, iDate Cologne 2014, took place a couple of weeks ago in Germany. Skalfa CEO and the man behind SkaDate Dating Software Emil Sarnogoev attended the conference to present SkaDate new platform, and mingle with other Internet and mobile dating executives, payment providers, affiliate marketers, matchmakers, and startup representatives.
To emphasize the scope of the event, conference speakers included some of the bigger names in the industry, represented by senior executives from Facebook, Meetic, Dating Factory, Scam Survivors, DateDicted, Neo4J, Kitestring, Neverblue, Metaflake, theMobileHub and many others. Among relevant topics covered were dating software development, mobile technology expansion, payment methods legislation, traditional marketing evolution, scamming activities prevention, etc.
“Obviously, online dating is both booming and a bit puzzled right now,” Sarnogoev said speaking at the event. “I always disliked the traditional approach to online dating business, seeing it as just a lucrative vertical of affiliate marketing. These times clearly come to an end. The propagation of mobile is the most significant thing that ever happened to online dating. Tinder, a casual dating “toy” took the market by storm, and is now valued up to $1B. Not bad for a first stab at mobile dating. Nobody figured it out quite yet completely, while the mobile audience is growing at staggering rates. It’s time to try your own ideas — at SkaDate we have been advocating this for a decade now. The market is opening new horizons.”
The two-day European conference worked as a general networking opportunity, as well as a think-tank lab for generating and sharing ideas about the current and future state of online dating. Both will benefit SkaDate Dating Software clients in the long run, as several new partnerships were struck at the conference, while fresh look at SkaDate progression will allow for even more precise enhancement of the software and user experience.
Among the immediate results of the Cologne conference will be the addition of a global mobile billing solution txtNation to the staple of features available to SkaDate clients, as well as road-mapping the plan for further improvement of the software and templates usability.
