If you ever had the experience of running AdWords campaigns for iOS apps you know that their effectiveness was always vastly inferior to those for apps in Play Market. Of course both AdWords and Play Market are under Google’s umbrella, and Apple is not that keen on playing ball in enemy’s territory. Thus in October 2017, Apple announced the launch of its own effective advertising service for the app store. Hence App Store Search Ads.

Setup

First, you need to register an ad account with your new or existing Apple ID. After confirming your registration, just fill out a form with your company’s address and other contact information. Now your ad account is ready for creating the first ad campaign.

Ad Campaign Creation

Choose the app you want to advertise with the help of a drop box, which allows searching by app name, Apple ID or its URL in iTunes.

Name your ad campaign, select the total budget (all the way up to 20 Million Dollars), and then indicate the words that should NOT be used for targeting in your ad campaign (your ads will not be shown to those searching for these selected words). When adding new words you will automatically see their popularity level and how often said words appear in the search queries.

Give a name to your new Ad Group, and then select for which devices the ad is valid (iPhone, iPad, or both). The storefronts country option is selected automatically, and as of now, the Search Ads service is available in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and Switzerland.

The next step is to set the cost per tap, which is the main cost criteria within Search Ads, where you pay every time someone taps on your ad. The rates can be as low as one cent, or as high as one thousand Dollars. At the end of the day, the priority of the ads shown will be determined by the app rating in the store, its download history, and reviews, as well as the cost you set per tap. This is pretty similar to what Google has with AdWords.

Off to targeting! A nifty Search Match option just lets the system chose the most appropriate target audience for you. It is based on several algorithms that determine the most relevant potential users for your app. Search Match does not require any additional tweaking and really makes targeting work a breeze.

Now you have to choose several keywords, just like with AdWords. The system will analyze your app and will actually give you a list of recommendations to choose from.

You can also use any third-party service for the job. As for the target audience, you can play around with the traditional options, like:

Who will see the ad (all user, or only those who without your advertised app);

Their sex and age;

Their location – it’s the entire country by default, but you can be more specific.

After that, the system will create a preview of your potential ad as it will be shown in search results. You will see something like that –

If you are happy with the results, all you need to do is add your payment details and you are all set!

As is usually the case, Apple came up with a simple but really efficient tool for the promotion of your mobile dating apps within its search results. Even the most advanced and complicated ad campaigns shouldn’t take longer than 15 to 20 minutes to set up and launch. Anyone can handle it, but SkaDate Dating Software team is more than happy to assist you if you need any help with the job.

Filling out questionnaires or profile questions outlining some personal information is one of the key steps along their online dating journey for any dating site member. The more thorough the collected data is, the better the chances to find a perfect match. This is why we recommend all aspiring online dating moguls to pay extra attention when working with Profile Questions system within SkaDate Dating Software.

In fact, the way you pick the list of questions and present them to new site members will most likely affect how often the users will return to your site or recommend it to others. The good news is that SkaDate dating script gives you a very easy, flexible and surprisingly deep system for setting up profile questions.

Let’s look at some of the system’s specific characteristics:

You create profile questions for each separate account type (by default it’s gender, but can be anything really). This way you can create different sets of questions targeted at your female and male members. It’s particularly useful because men and women are not always guided by the same set of values when selecting their match. With SkaDate you have complete freedom when it comes to profile question targeting, depending on your site’s concept and desired audience.

SkaDate lets you play around with a variety of different styles for profile questions (like presenting them as lists, employing radio buttons, or using ranges, for instance, for age-related questions). On top of that, you can create the questions of your own.

You are also in control of where exactly on the site the questions will appear. Choose from Join, Edit, Profile View, Search, etc.

With SkaDate you’ll be talking to your members in the language they understand. Literally. All profile questions and answers can be easily translated into different languages to suit your targeted location.

There are tons more stuff you can do with profile questions if you get creative. Just talk to our professional support team, and they will consult you with the best direction to take, or help you with the setup. Or you can leave absolutely everything to us – just get SkaDate Advanced Solution, where your personal Project Manager will handle all the chores after discussing all the details with you. Give us a call if you have any questions, and we’ll help you save time and money in launching your very own online dating business.

The post SkaDate Dating Software Marketing Tips: SMM for Dating Sites Promotion appeared first on SkaDate Software and Service Packages.

Why SMM is Important for Your Dating Business

Social Media Marketing (SMM) is the use of social media platforms and websites to promote your online dating service. Unless you are the one and only Match Group Inc., chances are there are much more people populating various social networks than your dating site. And what we you want to do is to get some of these people (preferably a lot) to visit your own site powered by SkaDate Dating Software.

So how do you promote your dating business with social platforms? You post and share content – that’s how. And not just any type of content – if you want your marketing strategy to actually work, this content should be valuable to the reader.

Basically, you want all the stuff you always hear at the end of YouTube videos (for a good reason) – likes, subscribes, shares, engagement, virality, and all other good things that come to social media marketers. If your marketing plan does not promote this type of activity, then you are doing something wrong.

The question all marketers ask is what type of social media content gets the best virality? And more importantly, what type of content gives you the best value for your dating site and mobile dating apps?

“Value” here is defined in terms of engagement, Key Performance Indicators (KPI), Return on Investment (ROI), and revenue. And of course you want to spend your content marketing money in ways that have a significant ROI. So, rather than acting on a hunch, better focus on proven tactics that do work, and the content with greatest value.

10 Types of Posts to Have on Your SMM Schedule

1. Asking Questions

Everyone has an opinion, and social media networks empower people to share theirs. Stats show that “question” posts get 100% more comments than regular social media content. For example, you might get people talking by asking,

“What is your best online dating experience?”

But do be careful with the type of engagement you are looking for. According to one study, question posts will help you get more comments but tend to collect fewer likes and shares. It’s all checks and balances, so play around with your intentions, and spread the content across the schedule evenly.

2. Fill in the Blanks

Requesting your readers to complete a sentence is an excellent way to improve engagement and get better feedback from your followers at the same time. The information you get will be useful to create content marketing content for the promotion of your niche or mobile dating apps. Alternatively, you can also use the insights to improve your dating sites. Here’s a couple of examples:

“The worst online dating experience I ever had was due to __________.”

“If there was one thing I wanted to see on a dating app is __________.”

3. Free Tips and Advice

Your followers always are on the lookout for guidance they can use themselves, or send to others. That’s human nature – no matter how confident we feel, we always assume a post with tips and cheats will give us even more useful info. But even if we already know the info in the post we still appreciate it, since it makes us feel good about ourselves – we are smart enough to know the tips already! So why not share it? See, providing valuable content keeps your followers engaged and encourages further content dissemination.

Advice posts are also an excellent opportunity to repurpose and promote old content. You can give tips and directions for creating impressive profiles, or provide singles who visit your site with actual dating counseling and advice.

4. Divide and Conquer

Want to increase engagement? Divide your audience into two groups in a head-to-head post and encourage them to take sides. This is a smart way to discover customers’ dating preferences and other areas of interest to improve your marketing strategies. In some cases, these can be interesting posts that spark engagement and interaction among followers. Don’t worry if it sounds too aggressive, since it doesn’t have to be. Here’s an example –

“Flowers or Chocolates on the First Date: Which Camp are You?”

5. Comments on Trending Topics

When doing SMM for online dating business, spare a few days in your social calendar to occasionally cover trending topics as they occur. Widely celebrated holidays might have a huge impact for your business, and depending on your specific concept, other social events might too.

Valentine’s Day is an easy example, as it works for all dating sites. You can plan ahead and use the day to increase the engagement. Make sure to research and attach related hashtags to your posts on the day, so others can easily find your content. Trending topics can get you very far, even with people who never heard of your dating site before. Also, proper use of hashtags has been shown to improve engagement by a much as 21%.

6. Share User Content

User generated content? Really? Who would actually pay any attention to an average user’s photos and videos on your social media channel? Well, it appears that many people would. More
than 90% of consumers trust peer reviews and user-generated content over any company-created material.

If your members post content that features you or your services, definitely get it out there and share it as much as possible. If you got any, distribute success stories of couples who found true love through your online dating website. Or get talking with your members and find out what’s most likely to produce such engaging content.

7. Post a Video

Services like YouTube, Vine, Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook’s native and live video options means sharing video has never been easier. It gives followers an inside look at your business and also creates connection to your brand on a more personal level. Oh, and while personal connections and touchy feely relations is all good, there’s also a business sense to this too.

Consumers who view video are actually more likely to join your portal. Also, a recent Google study showed that 92% of mobile video users share content they see with others. You can make it work to your advantage by creating a video showing the number of profiles on your dating site, or what features one can access after becoming a paid member.

8. Leverage Nostalgia

When marketing a dating business, don’t forget to use nostalgia, also known as the tactics that never fails. Sharing content with a days-gone-by feeling works wonders in capturing attention of the audience. You will also draw subconscious connections between your brand and the positive sensation your followers associates with the past. For example, you can share articles describing the ay dating and marriages happened in the pre-Internet times. Remember those? No Tinder, no SkaDate dating script? We neither.

9. Photo Content

Did you know that photos get 53% more likes, 104% more comments and 84% more click-throughs on links, as compared to content-based posts? Photos allow you to tell a story visually, provide inside look at paid memberships, promote offers, or invite visitors to caption a funny image. In short, a picture is worth 1000 words. So do share that content in right places and you can get quality backlinks as well.

10. Host Promotions

Even our own stats show that 35% of consumers follow brands to stay updated on promotions. Another 42% follow for the special offers and discounts. Include this in your calendar to keep those followers engaged, but use these messages sparingly. Focus more on value than quick deals, or your posts will annoy followers who could perceive your content as spam. You can share membership deals or discount offers on virtual gifts or similar things according to your dating website. SkaDate dating software has plenty of tools to play around with, and make the foundation for your promotion campaigns.

So, now you are fully equipped to get going with SMM for online dating business for a while. Mix and match the ideas for better engagement and more value. Remember that timing of your posts also play an important role. Make sure you share posts when there is better chance of getting through to your audience and more followers are expected to be online. In conclusion – stop posting randomly, and plan your content marketing wisely and ahead of time.

The new installment in the series of interviews with the team behind SkaDate Dating Software shines some light on the company’s top management, represented by Skalfa Chief Operating Officer Den Juikov.

Den, how did you end up at Skalfa?

By accident. I was a 19 years old student overwhelmed by the feeling of finally being young and free, and that’s when I was offered internship as a junior developer at Skalfa. Right from that moment everything started changing in my life. Skalfa really matured me as a person. At the time it was like madly falling in love with someone much more experienced than me. This type of thing makes you do all sorts of crazy stuff and turning everything upside down just to stay in this relationship.

What are your responsibilities as the company COO?

Chief Operating Officer is responsible for managing all hands-on operational aspects of the company. It’s all about communication: effectively and efficiently delivering your ideas, and then gathering proper feedback, while understanding what the rest of the team wants to tell you.

With Skalfa we have a group of very different, creative and talented professionals. My job is to find a key to each person. Through effective communication, respectful and energetic leadership, administrative and operational control I try to ensure that the company achieves best results in everything we do: from the best support possible offered to our clients, to the strategic product planning.

What does your regular day feels like?

It feels like a hockey game really. You help in defence, then move to attack. Sometimes you realise that the best way to proceed is just to step aside and watch the game unfold as an observer, to see and understand what you might be doing wrong.

What is the most enjoyable part of your job?

What can be more inspiring than seeing the real results of your work?! At Skalfa we create products that help ordinary people achieve their dreams and ambitious business goals. Every day hundreds of people start new sites with the help of our products. Some of them are experienced entrepreneurs, while others are startupers. I believe we are moving in the right direction and we shouldn’t ever stop. The world around us is changing fast, and solutions that worked today might no longer be good options tomorrow. We have to create something new, in a new way. That all is a part of the progress for me.

What is the biggest challenge in working with projects like SkaDate?

Our customers want the product with dozens of features, which, on one hand, is certainly great. It makes the product functional. On the other hand, it made the previous SkaDate iterations somewhat bloated and complicated for an ordinary user. Staying closer to simplicity in the end-use is especially important. Millions of dollars are spent today for optimizations and UI. The hardest task for us is to combine functionality with said simplicity. That’s real science right there! We faced this challenge and very soon you will see how we managed to successfully tackle it.

Should we be excited? What are the latest developments at SkaDate?

As I said, very soon our customers will see the long-awaited new version of SkaDate. Based on years of user feedback, we took into account many wishes and requests of real site owners. I believe we developed an amazing product while keeping it simple and easily manageable at the same time.

You have been working at Skalfa for 9 years. How does it feel?

It feels like 9 years of marriage :). Probably with a couple of kids too! Doing what we do in this environment, you are bound to become wiser and more responsible. It just makes you more confident and lets you look into the future with a lot of passion and energy.

Previously we talked with Margareth, Quality Assurance Manager.

In today’s SkaDate Dating Software blog post we continue talking about members of the Skalfa team, and are happy to introduce Sardar Madumarov, our very own Chief Technology Officer.

Sardar, what are your responsibilities as a CTO?

I am responsible for the performance of the technical team at Skalfa. Together with the company’s management we identify opportunities for innovation and prioritize development initiatives. Our technical department works in collaboration with product designers and quality assurance staff, while I make sure that all the tasks coming from these departments are taken care of and are fully resolved. It is my duty to see the proper implementation of all objectives set for the Technical Department, all the while keeping the use of organization’s resources in check. Direct development also falls under my authority. In general, 50% of my job is technical, and another 50% is strictly managerial.

Tell us more about the technical team you manage

The team consists of highly skilled technology professionals whom I worked with for a long time. We know each other very well and are aware of each other’s professional and personal qualities, which is essential for teamwork. We do share same professional values and work ethics. It’s truly enjoyable to lead a team of extremely responsible and intellectually curious people, all of whom are capable of developing something beautiful and meaningful.

What are the top 3 skills you consider the most important for a Chief Technology Officer?

The first key skill for a Chief Technology Officer is the ability to communicate with people, and to present complex information in simple terms to both, technical and non-technical audiences. Communication skill is critical since being a CTO means sharing knowledge, mentoring, and frequently collaborating with other departments. Another skill is always staying innovative – maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies and software development best practices. The third skill is superior analytical ability, combined with problem-solving aptitude.

What are your thoughts on SkaDate Master from a CTO point of view?

SkaDate Master’s success comes from placing customers’ needs and wishes as the highest priority. There’s always a presence of dynamic development, reflected by adding a feature after feature, which brings loyalty, as well as satisfaction to our clients, and makes SkaDate the leading dating software on the market. Inevitably, this results in a very strong but a complex solution. We work very hard to overcome this constraint and all ensuing challenges. A direct outcome of that is SkaDate Lite, a streamlined software based on the Oxwall platform.

What other projects you are busy with?

Currently our main focus lies with SkaDate Master. In addition, there’s also the aforementioned Skadate Lite, a flexible dating software solution, and of course Oxwall, a free open-source community platform. I love Oxwall: it is free, highly efficient and arguably the best toy among similar products around. It can also serve as the basis for the future crop of the tools we produce.

How does it feel to be in Skalfa for 7 years?

Oh, I enjoy it greatly. It’s in the people, the mood, the mission. I do what I love and get paid for it, what can be better?
